Dr. Thomas Amalfitano

Dr. Thomas G. Amalfitano is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School, where he stayed on and completed his orthopaedic residency his last year as Chief Orthopaedic Resident. Dr. Amalfitano's specialty practice includes fracture treatment, hip, knee, foot, ankle and shoulder problems, sports medicine, and arthritis requiring joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Amalfitano works for the Washington Nationals major league baseball team caring for the team's players in Hagerstown and each spring at the National's spring training facility in Viera, Florida. He has also been team physician for the Hagerstown Community College basketball team.

Dr. Richard Kramer

Dr. Kramer was born and raised in Hagerstown. He only left to go to school and came home to the greatest place in the world to practice. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After completing a residency in General Anesthesia at The Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, he returned to Baltimore to complete his Oral Surgery Training at the University of Maryland and Shock Trauma.

Dr. Kramer and his wife Lauren are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters.

Dr. Kramer is especially interested in the placement of dental implants to replace teeth, extraction of teeth, and making his patients comfortable for their oral surgical needs.


Dr. Richard Milford

Dr. Richard S. Milford was raised and educated in New York City. He attended Columbia University, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and was an orthopaedic resident at Albert Einstein Hospital. Following completion of his orthopaedic training, he spent a fellowship year studying and performing hand surgery in a program affiliated with the University of Connecticut and Yale University. He treats a variety of orthopaedic patients and specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Milford is board certified in orthopaedics and in the sub-specialty of hand surgery (Certificate of Added Qualification - Hand). He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Karl Riggle

Dr. Riggle attended University of Virginia where he received a BA in physics with a subspecialty in computer science and graduated with High Distinction. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and completed a general surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia and Akron General Medical Center.

He is a diplomat of The American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of surgeons as well as the Southeastern Surgical Congress. Dr. Riggle is a member of the Alpha Chi Chemistry Professional Fraternity, American Medical Association, Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, Vascular Access Society of Americas, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.

Some of the positions he has held include, Medical Director of Nutritional Support and PICC services at Meritus Medical Center, and in the past positions at Washington County Hospital/ Meritus Medical Center to include, Vice Chief of Staff; Chairman Department of Surgery; Chief, Division of Trauma, and Chief , Division of General Surgery. He has served the tristate area in private practice since 1989 and has hospital affiliations with Meritus Medical Center, Fulton County Medical Center and Western Maryland Hospital.

Dr. Riggle lives in Mercersburg, PA with his wife Martha who is a family practice physician. He has three grown children.

 

Dr. William Su

Dr. Su attended Brown University where he received a BS in International Relations. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He stayed at NYU, where he completed his residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Vascular Surgery. In 2002, Dr. Su returned to his hometown of Hagerstown to join his father, Dr. Chia Chuen Su, in his surgical practice. They worked together for two years until his father's retirement in 2004. Dr. Su continues to serve the residents of Western Maryland.

His memberships include Alpha Omega Alpha, New York University School of Medicine, ADA - Medical Honor Society and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Vascular Surgeons

Dr. Su is a board certified general and vascular surgeon. He lives in Hagerstown with his wife Kathleen and two children, Isabel and Oscar. Dr. Su is a member of the Meritus Healthcare Foundation Special Gifts Division and an Ambassador of the Cornerstone Giving Club. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Meritus Medical Center.

Dr. Kiran Khosa 


Dr. Khosa earned her medical degree from Central America Health Sciences University in Belize, and completed her residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, Va. She completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Khosa is board certified in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine.


Dr. Patricia McKay


A native of Maryland, Dr. McKay attended the Uniformed Services University (USU), F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. She completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center and a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. McKay served nearly three decades in the Navy including a tour in Okinawa with the First Marine Airwing and aboard the hospital ship USNS COMFORT during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Throughout her military career, she provided outstanding care to service members and their families. While in Bethesda, she served as Hand Surgery consultant to the White House Medical Unit. Passionate about medical education, she was Program Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency for several years and then returned to the USU as Commandant for the School of Medicine before being selected as Interim Chair of the Norman M. Rich, Department of Surgery. Dr McKay concluded her military service as Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences and was recognized with the Defense Superior Service Award.  Having transitioned from the Navy in 2017, she continued to practice hand surgery with the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics (CAO), Southern Maryland Division and as an American Red Cross Volunteer at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  Dr. McKay has recently joined the CAO Parkway Division and is looking forward to serving this community.

Dr. Emmanuel Koli 

Emmanuel Koli, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in Sports Medicine and sports-related injuries. Dr. Koli specializes in the treatment of injuries involving the shoulder, knee, elbow, and hip. He also treats arthritis of the shoulder, knee, and hip. He has a particular interest in ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, ligament injuries, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, arthroplasty of the shoulder, knee, and hip, arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, and hip, cartilage restoration, and joint preservation. His practice also includes general orthopedic care, including fracture care and nonoperative management of musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Koli was born in Accra, Ghana. He graduated from Cornell College and subsequently received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C., a prestigious HBCU, graduating with honors. He then completed a rigorous five-year orthopedic surgery residency at Howard University Hospital, where he became involved in providing orthopedic care to the surrounding communities. He became an academic chief resident and graduated with honors. He was then selected for a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute in New Orleans where he served as assistant team physician for the New Orleans Pelicans, and team physician for Xavier University Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, as well as several nationally competitive local high school football teams including Holy Cross and St. Charles Catholic.

Dr. Koli has published several peer-reviewed orthopedic journal articles and educational posters. As medicine is constantly evolving and improving, he remains current on the latest advancements in orthopedic sports medicine to provide the most innovative, effective, and safest care for his patients. He is passionate about helping patients return to an active lifestyle, and his practice focuses on providing the highest level of individualized patient care.

Outside of work, Dr. Koli enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing soccer and basketball, exploring the night sky with his telescope, watching movies, and traveling.

Dr. Alvaro Cabezas 

Alvaro Cabezas, M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Center for the Joint Surgery and Sports Medicine division in Hagerstown, Maryland. Dr. Cabezas brings his experience from one of New Jersey‘s busiest referral institutions where he was trained in the latest techniques and advancements in orthopaedic surgery. He is a graduate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he also recently completed his residency.

He is a veteran of U.S. Army and served under Operation Enduring Freedom while stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Serving as a combat medic and laboratory technician during his time in the military has helped him refine his ability to work with a variety of individuals.

Being fluent in English and Spanish, he brings comprehensive care to a wide selection of patients


Dr. Ijeoma Ifeanyi-Nwanze  


Dr. Ifeanyi-Nwanze received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed her residency in anesthesiology and received fellowship training in chronic pain management from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Ifeanyi-Nwanze is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and board certified in pain management.

Dr. Chiemeka Onyima 


Dr. Onyima received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., and completed a residency in anesthesiology and received fellowship training in pain medicine from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington DC. Dr. Onyima is board certified in pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
